| For the last 2 years, our center has supported this worthy cause. We invited the children, parents and teachers to wear their pyjama's to kindergarten for a week. We also offered a shared breakfast for the children and their parents to come and have with us. Children practiced their self help skills by buttering and putting spreads on their toast. Parents and teachers made donations of new pyjama's and toothbrushes which will be forwarded onto the Middlemore foundation to give to children in need after their stay in hospital. This promotes staying warm in winter to ward off illness. This also coincides with the Maori New Year, Matariki, which is a time for families to come together to celebrate and share the winter harvest. |
