This month we are bringing awareness to the importance of keeping warm in winter. Children, Parents and Teachers wore their pyjama's to kindergarten. Families donated pyjama's, blankets, toothbrushes, socks, and beanies to go to children who are in hospital at this time of year. We are supporting the Middlemore Foundation who organises this fundraiser. Beachcomber kindergarten supplied a shared breakfast for our families to promote healthy eating and good health, this also coincides with Matariki, which is a time for sharing and giving.

![]() On the 31st May, children arrived at kindergarten in their finest party clothes to celebrate the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Some children drew pictures of the Queen. Rylee said "We've got to listen to the England song", so at group time we stood and listened to the English national anthem, then we played the New Zealand national anthem. Children were invited to make birthday cards for the Queen. Teachers shared a morning tea and children had fancy food in their lunch boxes. We learnt that the Queen was turning 87 years old. "Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth II." |
